Stanford Hospital & Clinics is the oldest medical facility in the Western United States, serving Palo Alto and surrounding communities for nearly 50 years. Recognized worldwide for advanced patient care, the Hospital is renowned for its treatment of rare, complex disorders in clinical specialties such as cardiac care, cancer treatment, neurosciences, orthopedics, and organ transplants.

Stanford Hospital provides both general acute care services and tertiary medical care for patients locally, nationally and internationally and is the only Level-1 trauma center between San Francisco and San Jose. The Hospital’s mission is to provide excellent care for its patients who live close by, as well as for those who come from afar for treatment of complex disorders.

Stanford Clinics, the group practice consisting of nearly 500 full-time faculty physicians from Stanford University School of Medicine, provides services ranging from primary care to the most advanced medical and surgical specialties. The Stanford faculty and community physicians on the Hospital’s medical staff assure that patients have access to the most advanced treatments available anywhere.
